Lenten Journey Mass Comes to Blessed Trinity ~ We will be hosting this week’s Lenten Journey Mass on Monday, March 31. It will also be the second of three special Lenten Journey Days at which Richard Lane, a Catholic Lay Evangelist, will speak. Monday’s topic is “A Believing Faith.” On Sunday evening, March 30, Mr. Lane will speak at St. Martin de Porres Church on “Deepening Faith,” and his topic on Tuesday, April 1, at Ss. Columba-Brigid is “Proclaiming the Faith.” Services on all three evenings begin at 6:30 p.m. Following Monday’s Liturgy at Blessed Trinity, refreshments will be served at a social in St. Charles Hall. Click HERE to see the complete schedule of Lenten Journey Masses as well as a schedule of Lenten services at Blessed Trinity.
Important News About Our Bingo Games ~ Several weeks ago we enhanced our bingo games with the introduction of a bingo camera, television monitors, and electronic verification. Now, due to the large Saturday Bonus Ball Jackpot and the corresponding increase in attendance, we have expanded our Saturday seating capacity by opening an additional room downstairs. It, too, is equipped with a television monitor so that downstairs bingo patrons will enjoy all the amenities that exist in the larger hall upstairs.
Heart at work: Serving our neighbors in Jesus’ name ~ Kelly works as a therapist for the Multisystemic Therapy Program, which helps families get back on track by using their strengths to address multiple factors related to juvenile delinquency. Kelly explained, “As a therapist, it takes a continuing commitment to find strengths, where and when others may not, and to support and encourage our families at the most difficult of times.” Kelly makes an impact with her work, and knows that others do too. “The people at Catholic Charities put their heart into their work with individuals and families every day.” If you haven’t already, please support the annual appeal with a generous gift. Our parish Chair, Bob Heicklen, will gratefully accept your donation. Remember the lives you are touching with your contribution. The Appeal is in your hands. Find out more at http://www.ccwny.org or call 716-218-1400.
“The Word” ~ Although we are already at the mid-point of Lent, it’s not too late to find time in your day for additional prayer and meditation. To help you get started, why not pick up a copy of the special Lenten Issue of The Word. You can find one in the ushers’ pew at the mid aisle of the church.
Good News Gets Around ~ When you’re out of town, you can find Mass times for parishes all over the country via the Internet. Log on to http://www.masstimes.org/. This is just one product that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is able to provide because of your generous donations to the Catholic Communication Campaign.
