News from our Parish Community
Our Christmas Wish for you as well as for us is that this child, who reconciled heaven and earth, will also bind us together in his love. May you all have a very blessed and joyful Christmas!
A Huge “Thank You” to all who worked together to prepare our worship space for Christmas at B.T. This includes the choir members who came at 6:00 to work until their practice at 7:00 … providing the remaining volunteers with the enjoyment of background music that was very beautiful. We’re in for a big treat on Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning!!!
Christmas in the City ~ Holy Family Sunday, December 30, starting at 2:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 1520 East Delevan Ave. CCCB Church families, musicians, and choirs come together to celebrate our Christmas Faith. Bring you favorite Christmas cookies to share. Beverages are provided. CCCB parishes: Blessed Trinity, St. Columba/Brigid & St. Ann, St. Katharine Drexel and St. Martin de Porres.
Looking Ahead ~ The annual Mass honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be celebrated on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at St. Katharine Drexel Church at 2:00 p.m. Bishop Richard Malone will be the main celebrant. The guest homilist will be the Rev. Michael Upson from Rochester. In early January, we will have full information about this event.
Congratulations to Marquis Draper, Robert Sands and their parents. Marquis and Robert achieved honors during the first marking period at Canisius High School.
A Special Request for our Helping Hands Food Pantry ~ Richard Plunkett advises that The Pantry has a critical need for volunteers with a pick-up truck who might be available a few hours each week or every other week for transport of food donations or extra food orders to the Helping Hands Food Pantry. If you can lend a hand or need further information, please contact Richard at 861-5022.
On a related note, The Helping Hands Food Pantry has been experiencing chronic shortages of cereal (store brands welcome). Their supply of cereal is usually gone by the end of the first week after the monthly food delivery from the Food Bank. They also are in need of any kind of canned vegetables, juice or canned soup, as well as flour or sugar and baking supplies. Many younger people and grandparents are asking for baby supplies, such as diapers and formula. You should also know that the food pantry now has used clothing that is clean and folded according to size for men, women, boys, girls and infants. They are in greatest need of clothing for men and infants. All clothing is donated and must be cleaned upon acceptance.

There is no charge and there is a special section for children.
Ss. Columba-Brigid Bible Study is taking a break for the Christmas season and the stormy month of January. So, no classes from Christmas to the end of January. Meanwhile be good. Give thanks and cherish your loved ones. Oh, and take care of the widows and orphans!
