The latest in the Trinity Concert Series took place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2011 with a piano recital and delightful “teaching moment” by Frank Scinta. Mr. Scinta performed the works of early composers who wrote for harpsichord and fortepiano. These works of Croce, Zipoli, Yon, Frescobaldi and Clementi, some based on liturgical music themes, were described by Scinta as “perfect” in our Landmark church setting. We thank Mr. Scinta for generously donating the proceeds from the free-will offering to Blessed Trinity. A post-concert reception followed in St. Charles Hall. The organist and choirmaster at St. Louis R.C. Church, Scinta is one of WNY’s most active choral directors and music educators. As pianist, Mr. Scinta has appeared in solo and chamber recitals sponsored by Canisius College, Friends of Vienna, St. Paul’s Cathedral, International Institute, Grosvenor Society, Albright Knox Art Gallery, and WBFO-FM’s Opus Classics Live. His recordings appear on the Mode label.
