msd.wine.tasting.table.smOctober 24th Wine Tasting ~ This is the last weekend to obtain tickets for Friday’s Wine Tasting for a $25 donation. They will be $30 if purchased at the door. If you’ve attended previous wine tastings, no sales pitch is necessary; if this is your first time, you are in for a real treat. Please remember that we are counting on parishioners to do what they do best: provide favorite hors d’oeuvres and desserts for our guests. In addition to a great variety of wines from Hertel-Parker Liquor, beer and non-alcoholic beverages are included. All proceeds benefit the church’s “Under This Roof Fund.” Tickets are available at the rectory or after Sunday Mass from Bud Dick or Jessie Wells. The wine tasting runs from 7 – 9 PM, and guests may tour the church between 6:30 and 7:30 PM. Information is also available Clicking HERE, or by calling the church office (833-0301).

Coffee Hour following Sunday Mass on October 19 is hosted by the Parish Council. Our next coffee hour will be November 16.

The Sisters of St. Joseph invite you to join them in celebrating 160 years of service at an Open House on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 2:00 until 4:30 p.m. at their residence, 4975 Strickler Road in Clarence.

October 19 is World Mission Sunday ~ We are invited today to reach out and help build the Church in Mongolia, the world’s youngest Catholic Church, as well as local churches throughout the Missions, in the most remote areas across our world. Your prayers and generous gift to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith in the collection on October 18/19 help the work of priests, religious and lay leaders in Mongolia and throughout the Missions who offer the poor practical help and the experience of God’s love and mercy, His hope and peace. Ladies Sodality Meeting ~ The Sodality will meet in St. Charles Hall following the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, October 26. We invite all women of the parish to join us.

Saturday Mass Change – As of October 4 and continuing through the winter heating season, we are celebrating Mass at 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays in the Daily Mass Chapel (priest’s sacristy). We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this change. The two side entrances of the church will be unlocked for easy access through the church to the Chapel.

Special Collection Reminder ~ A special collection on to provide humanitarian relief and pastoral support for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East will take place on the weekend of October 25/26. Envelopes will be available in church pews for this offering. Thank you.

Diocesan Celebration of Milestone Wedding Anniversaries ~ Couples celebrating their fiftieth, sixtieth or seventieth wedding anniversaries during 2014 will be honored on Sunday, November 16, at 3:00 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral followed by a reception at the Adam’s Mark Hotel.  Family members are invited.  If you have celebrated or will be celebrating one of these significant wedding anniversaries during 2014 and would like to participate in this event, please make your reservation by calling Sister Barbara (833-0301) by October 19.
