Our altar rail includes Latin words from the Sequence written for the Mass of Corpus Christi by St. Thomas Aquinas. The words on the left side, “Ecce panis angelorum factus cibus viatorum” mean “Behold, the Bread of Angels is made into food for pilgrims.”

News from our Parish Community

Catholic Charities’ Day of Giving is June 8. The 2018 Catholic Charities Appeal is $1.25 million short of its $11 million goal. With the support of a generous donor, all new appeal gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000. Your $10 gift becomes $20…$50 becomes $100, etc. Just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes, this is your chance to feed and bless our neighbors in need. There will be a second collection on the weekend of June 2/3 to accommodate this need. Please give generously.

A Note of Appreciation ~ On behalf of the Parish, I thank and appreciate the planning committee and all others who worked hard to make our feast day and the church building’s ninetieth Anniversary a successful and beautiful Trinity Sunday celebration. May the continuous blessing of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit be with you all and your families … Father Victor

Celebrating Our Future Along With Our Past ~ As reflected in Father Victor’s message, we combined a anniversary remembrance with last Sunday’s celebration of our parish feast day. During the 10am Mass, we recognized those who have joined the parish in the last year and a half — so essential to our future — while also commemorating the 90th anniversary of the completion of our church building, dedicated by Bishop Turner on June 3, 1928. Click HERE to see photos from the Mass, the blessing of the church cornerstone and our new sign, and the social which followed.

Bridget Dick Blesnuk

Former Music Director
1991 – 2010

Happy Summer ~ While the calendar may disagree, this past week certainly felt like summer in Western New York.  Corpus Christi has historically been the last week the choir sings until the fall. The choir members have earned a rest!  This year, they have outdone themselves by learning three new Mass settings, collaborating with other church choirs, and enhancing the liturgy at other churches in addition to our own.  They are tireless in their energy as well as their love for our Lord.  Please express your gratitude when you hear them singing with you in the congregation for the next few months. They are wonderful! This week’s offertory hymn, How Great Thou Art, reminds me of Bridget Blesnuk, our former Music Minister. She sang this hymn as a solo with the Diocesan Festival Choir and the entire congregation was moved to sing along. Bridget always enjoyed the Feast of Corpus Christi – so we sang it today to honor her memory. Hope you were moved to join in – Bridget would have loved that! Choir practice will resume in September. Please watch this space for information about how to join the Music Ministry at BT.  God Be With You ‘Til We Meet AgainElizabeth

The Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers will meet in the Priest’s Sacristy after Mass on Sunday, June 10, to prepare for summer Masses.

Those who want to obtain the booklet and participate in the discussion, please call Althea Porter at 716-316-8395.
