News from our Parish Community

Stewardship calls us to realize that each of us is called upon to give as God has given to us. We no longer base our giving on what others are giving. We no longer excuse ourselves from giving because we do not see others giving. Rather we give in proportion to all that God has given to us.

Alumni Sunday ~ On Sunday, September 24, we welcome the Blessed Trinity School Alumni for their annual Alumni Memorial Mass and all-class reunion. Parishioners who are also alumni will act as docents for a special guided mini-tour of the church and as greeters at the Mass, at which recently deceased alumni and faculty of the school will be remembered. Members of the fiftieth anniversary Class of ’67 will present the offertory gifts.

Hurricane Relief Collection ~ There will be a second collection on September 23/24 for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. This will be our contribution to a diocesan-wide collection, so please do what you can to help the many thousands of people affected by the recent storms.

Over your heads, there is music in the air!  The Blessed Trinity Choir is back in full force, singing the Lord’s praises with joyful hearts. We are sincerely grateful for the opportunity to enhance our liturgical experience through the gift of song. Thank you all for your continued support of music at Blessed Trinity!

Do you have a song in your heart? There are still openings in the Blessed Trinity Choir! If you think God is calling you to serve Him through a music ministry, don’t hesitate to join us at choir practice at 7:00 on Tuesday evening, September 26, in St. Charles Hall.  No audition necessary. The only requirement is a love of The Lord.

Parish Council ~ Newly elected parish council members Nik Brodfuehrer, Lorna Cameron, Kathy Press, Bonnie Williams, and Don Williams were welcomed at the Council’s September meeting, held on Wednesday, 9/20. The body elected the following officers to serve for 2017-18:  President Mickey Dick, Vice President Kathy Press, and Secretary Tom Brodfuehrer. They will be introduced to the congregation and prayed for on Sunday, October 1 after Communion. We are grateful to these individuals and all the hold-over members for their stewardship and leadership.

The Ladies Sodality will hold their first meeting of the year on Sunday, October 1, in St. Charles Hall, immediately following the 10am Mass. The agenda will focus on the organization’s plans for the 2017-18 calendar year.

Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is October 4. Father Victor will offer a Blessing of Animals on Sunday October 1 at 4pm. Please bring your pets for a blessing and thank God for their companionship.
